IT”S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE follows hot on the heels of other Norwegian thrillers that are being snapped up for their remake rights (PIONEER by George Clooney, HEADHUNTERS by Summit Entertainment). Written, shot, edited and directed by Arild Østin Ommundsen (MONSTERTHURSDAY, Sundance 2005), IT’S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE has picked up by Urban Farms for a US remake by the some of the same minds that made Iceland’s EITHER WAY into the David Gordon Green-directed PRINCE CHARMING.
IT’S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE is the story of a murder that never should have happened, about friends that never should have been trusted and a debt that increases for every down payment. After serving ten years in prison for murder, Jenny – a stellar performance by Silje Salomonson – dreams of resuming her responsibilities as a mother. Soon dark shadows from her past start to appear.

Praise for the film by The Hollywood Reporter’s John DeFore: Buoyed by charming performances and enough violence to balance its wistful tendencies, the stylish Norwegian film would be welcome in American arthouses.
