Building on 35 years at the Museum of Modern Art, KINO! reboots at new locations – but still bringing the latest of German cinema that New Yorkers have come to expect from this long-running fixture on the cultural calendar.
Organized by German Films, the national information and advisory center for the promotion of German films worldwide, KINO! kicks off on June 12 with its opening night screening of WEST at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria (Queens), one of the most fast-growing, vibrant neighborhoods in the five boroughs.
The full program showcases a total of 13 features, documentaries and shorts (NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER 2014) are screened daily in Manhattan’s Quad Cinema from June 13-19. NAN GOLDIN – I REMEMBER YOUR FACE has a theatrical release as part of KINO! with daily screenings in the Quad Cinema.
