Six years after THE HIGHER FORCE (2009), his crime comedy starring Michael Imperioli, Iceland’s Olaf de Fleur returns to Rotterdam with the spellbinding thriller BRAVE MEN’S BLOOD in the festival’s Spectrum section. This time, De Fleur approaches the violent undercurrents of the Icelandic crime scene with a deadly serious approach.
Very loosely inspired by his previous film CITY STATE (2011), BRAVE MEN’S BLOOD follows Hannes (Darri Ingolfsson), an ambitious internal affairs detective who wants to kill two birds with one stone: unmask his corrupt boss and dismantle a drugs organisation. Very quickly his strategy leads to a chain of events that spin far beyond his control.
Director Olaf de Fleur is available for phone/email or Skype interviews.
Screenwriter Hrafnkell Stefansson is available for interviews in Rotterdam
