The latest feature film from Kazakh director, Yermek Tursunov, who was short-listed for an Best Foreign Film Oscar with his nomadic-time drama KELIN in 2010. STRANGER follows Ilyas, a young man who survived the famine of the 30s, but finds himself battling society in a bid to retain his freedom. Reconnecting with his village friends becomes his biggest challenge yet.
