Finnish master director Pirjo Honksalo (3 ROOMS OF MELANCHOLIA) returns to fiction with the black and white film noir CONCRETE NIGHT – a dreamlike odyssey of young Simo who, over the course of a night in the humid and stunning Helsinki, follows his criminal older brother through a series of fateful events.
Honkasalo wrote the film script based on the hard-charging novel Concrete Night by Pirkko Saisio, which was published in 1981. The script has been adapted to modern times, even as large parts of the 30-year-old novel foreshadowed life today.
